LocalForge Privacy Policy

LocalForge Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 6, 2026

This privacy policy applies to the LocalForge Windows application and related support services provided by iChipHost. It is written for users and for Microsoft Partner Center review because LocalForge may process information that can identify a person when support, licensing, diagnostics, updates or public-preview features are used.

Who we are

LocalForge is provided by iChipHost / ΔΕΛΦΙΤΖΗΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΗΣ Κ ΣΙΑ Ε.Ε., Leoforos Syggrou 248, Kallithea 17672, Greece. You can contact us at info@ichiphost.gr or through https://ichiphost.gr/epikoinonia/.

Local-first design

LocalForge is designed as a local-first development environment. The default workflows run on the user’s Windows device and do not require Docker, WSL, a cloud account or product telemetry. Project files, generated sites, databases, local services, backups, runtime inventory, package inventory, service status, logs and most diagnostics remain on the user’s device unless the user chooses to export them, share them with support or expose a site through a public tunnel.

Personal information LocalForge may process

Depending on how the user uses the application, LocalForge and iChipHost may process the following information:

  • Local app and project data: local project names, local paths, runtime selections, package inventory, service status, backup metadata, tunnel records and log files stored under the LocalForge data directory.
  • Support and contact data: name, email address, company name, order or license reference, support messages and files the user chooses to send to iChipHost.
  • Diagnostics: opt-in diagnostic bundles may include LocalForge version, Windows version, runtime/package summaries, service summaries and redacted logs. Diagnostics are intended to exclude .env files, database dumps, private keys, local certificate-authority private keys and tunnel tokens, but users should review any diagnostics ZIP before sending it.
  • Licensing, update and store data: if licensing, update checks or Microsoft Store distribution are used, the relevant platform or service may process account, device, purchase or entitlement information according to its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Public tunnel and external provider data: LocalForge does not expose a local site publicly by default. If the user explicitly starts a public preview through Cloudflare, ngrok or another provider, that provider may process account, connection, network and traffic data under its own terms.

How we use information

We use information only to provide and improve LocalForge, manage local development features, provide support, investigate bugs, protect users from unsafe tunnel or secret-sharing behavior, handle licensing or purchase support, comply with legal obligations and communicate about the product when the user contacts us or requests help.

Telemetry and analytics

The current private-beta / release-candidate lane does not send product telemetry by default. Update checks are offline by default unless an update manifest is explicitly configured. If this changes in a future release, this policy will be updated before the feature is enabled for users.

Storage and security

Local app data is stored on the user’s Windows device, normally under LocalForgeData for portable mode or the configured LocalForge data directory for installed mode. iChipHost support data is stored in the systems used to answer the user’s request, such as email, support, order or website systems. We use HTTPS for public web pages and restrict access to operational support data to people or processors who need it for support, security, legal or product operations.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us run the website, email, support, licensing, payment/order handling, Microsoft Store distribution, security, hosting or diagnostics workflows. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or to investigate abuse or security incidents. Public tunnel providers and Microsoft Store services have their own privacy terms when the user chooses to use those services.

User choices and control

Users can keep project data local by not sharing diagnostics or project files with support, by not enabling public tunnels, and by deleting LocalForgeData or the configured app data directory after uninstalling the application. Users can contact info@ichiphost.gr to request access, correction or deletion of support/contact information held by iChipHost, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.

Children

LocalForge is a developer tool and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when LocalForge adds material new data processing, telemetry, licensing, update, support or public-sharing behavior. The current version will remain available at https://ichiphost.gr/localforge/privacy-policy/.
